Cassava starch making production plant production process

Cassava starch is produced from fresh cassava roots by wet-milling method. The whole cassava starch making production plant is comprised of six major sections: cleaning, washing, grinding, separating, concentrating and refining, dehydrating, drying and packing.

1. Cleaning unit: Dry sieve is a cassava starch processing machine used for coarse cleaning of cassava, it mainly remove sand, soil and other debris in cassava starch making production plant. It has the features of smooth and stable running speed, thus ensures materials from damage.

2. Washing unit: Paddle washing machine is mainly used for further washing cassava to remove the attached impurities in cassava starch making production plant. The working principle of this cassava starch processing machine is backwashing, by which the water and material moves in reverse direction and achieve a better washing effect.

3. Grinding unit: The grinding unit is one of the most important part in cassava starch making production plant which determines the cassava starch extraction rate. High-efficiency grinding machine allows the starch granules in cassava cells to be completely released, ensuring that the combined starch content in the cassava residue is minimized. 4. Separating unit: The cassava slurry contains many impurities, such as fiber, protein and cell sap. They need to be separated from starch. Centrifuge sieve and fine fiber sieve are the separating machine serves for separating fiber from starch. In cassava starch making production plant, we normally use four to five stage centrifuge sieve in order to achieve better separation effect. Fine fiber sieve is a low speed centrifugal machine which is mainly for removing fine fiber out of starch. Normally, after the separation of these two machine, the fiber can be effectively removed.

5.Concentrating and refining unit
After separating, the starch slurry still need to be concentrated and refined. In cassava starch making production plant, the mainly used cassava starch extraction equipment is hydrocyclone station. The main function of hydrocyclone is to remove the fine fiber, protein and cell sap out of starch slurry to make the final starch meet the standard. The hydrocyclone station is composed of several units(the unit number depends on customer's needs) connected in series. The hydrocyclone pipe of DOING is made from material of strengthened nylon.

6. Dewatering unit: Peeler centrifuge is a widely used cassava starch processing machine whose main function is the separation of solid and liquid in cassava starch making production plant. This cassava dewatering machine features with good starch dewatering effect and stable water content of wet starch.

7. Drying and packing unit: This is the last step for cassava starch making production plant. The flash dryer is the widely used starch drying machine which mainly dries the dehydrated starch to the desired moisture content of the commercial starch. The dehydrated starch is conveyed by spiral to the feed port of the flash dryer. The starch enters the cyclone with the hot air in the airflow dryer. The dried starch is separated from the air in the cyclone, and the air is discharged out of the cyclone. Then the cassava starch is weighted and packed for marketing.
