Tapioca starch extraction process

Equipment footprint for tapioca starch extraction process
Tip: Contains the circulation pool, operation channel, equipment footprint, and console.
The following manuals all include cyclic replacement workers.
1). 3-4 tons of equipment footprint: 100-150 square meters, requiring 3-5 workers
2). 5-6 tons of equipment footprint: 150-200 square meters, requiring 3-5 workers
3). 7-8 tons of equipment footprint: 200-250 square meters, requiring 5-8 workers
4). 10 tons of equipment footprint: 250-300 square meters, requiring 5-8 workers
5). 15 tons of equipment footprint: 350-500 square meters, requiring 5-8 workers

The technological process for tapioca starch extraction process:
Raw cassava cleaning -  conveying - washing - grating - separation - sand removal - protein separation - dehydration - drying and packing
Cassava

1. Cassava de-stone and washing: The de-stone process mainly removes impurities such as small stones, gravel, cassava leaves and other debris. The pretreatment of cassava facilitate the washing stage and reduce the load of washing machine. The washing is mainly used to wash away the sediment, soil and the like attached to the cassava skin. It is required to wash the surface without clay for subsequent processing steps for tapioca starch extraction process.

2. Cassava grating: The purpose of grating is to destroy the structure of the cassava cell so that the tiny starch grains can be separated from the root. Rasper is a kind of grating machine used for tapioca starch extraction process with high speed operation.

3. Slurry and residue separation: And then the grinded starch slurry is taken to centrifuge sieve and fine fiber sieve for fiber removal. These two cassava starch processing machine is mainly for separating the starch and residue which also extract starch from the pulp for tapioca starch extraction process. Both of them are equipped with automatic washing system to prevent the screen mesh plugging.

4. Desanding: To remove sand out of starch slurry by principle of specific gravity separation thus to improve cassava starch taste to further improve starch quality in tapioca starch extraction process.

5. Protein separation: The refining step is a key step in washing the starch milk, and determines the extraction rate of the starch. This section for tapioca starch extraction process mainly removes the protein and other impurities in the starch milk to ensure that the whiteness of the starch reaches the market standards.

6. Dehydration: This tapioca starch extraction process is to reduce water content of starch milk to realize the starch water content lower than 40% to facilitate drying operation in cassava starch processing plant.

7. Starch drying and packing:  Drying process follows dehydrating which is used for dry wet starch to meet commercial standards. Drying requirements: water content of starch is below 14% in tapioca starch extraction process. DOING flash dryer is characterized by high heat transfer coefficient, large heat transfer area and short drying time.
